In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in New York; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Found out about this place after running into one of its managers Naomi on the LIRR. Of course I had to try what the place is named for and the pork soup dumplings were the best I had in years, such flavor. I followed that up some noodle soup, washes it down with some snow beer, and finished it off with some amazing chocolate Mochi ice cream. My waiter was very helpful in picking some items out and with the soup dumplings. Can't wait to go back for the spicy soft shell crab.

We came here to try the soup dumplings! They did not disappoint - we got the pork and they were phenomenal. Though, a little bit of a learning curve on how to eat them! We also got numerous other apps - most were great, however the texture in the veggie dumplings was not for us. The cold noodles, scallion pancakes, and spring rolls, we enjoyed! Service was quick and efficient and the prices were great!

Along with their signature soup dumplings, we tried the fried rice and chicken kung pao. The fried rice was well cooked with a nice balance of flavor simple, comforting, and not overly greasy. The chicken kung pao had a good mix of spice, slight sweetness, and crunch from the peanuts, making it a solid, flavorful dish. The soup dumplings still remain the standout juicy, delicate, and full of rich broth but the additional dishes rounded out the meal nicely and made it more satisfying overall. Service was quick and efficient, and the casual, busy atmosphere fits the style of the restaurant. Overall, it’s a great spot for a straightforward, flavorful Chinese meal, especially if you’re there for the soup dumplings but want a few solid mains to go with it.

There's a very good reason this place is known by its amazing soup dumplings!! We came for a quick lunch, sat on the bar which was a nice experience on its own, as you get to see the staff prepare the soup dumplings right in front of you. We had the pork soup dumplings, orange chicken (as a part of the lunch deal they offer between 12:00-15:00pm, so it's served with a side of rice for your choice and a vegetarian eggroll), and their fresh cucumber salad. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, so if you're a Chinese food lover, you'll appreciate the authenticity and amazing flavors of every single dish.

The food was so amazing. We enjoyed everything we ate. The soup dumplings were delicious and served nice and hot. We also got mushy pork. That was the best I’ve ever had. I’d say that is a must try. Our server was extremely fast and extremely helpful. We got everything taken care of and we’re in and out of the restaurant in under 45 minutes and it was very delightful.
